STUART TURNER 1932 - 2025.
                                
We were sad to hear of the passing, on 5 September 2025, of Stuart Turner at the grand old age of 92. Stuart was a good friend of the Club and generously offered us a lot of support in the early days of the return of the Monte to Scotland. He was a guest speaker at the first pre-rallye dinner in 2011 and gave a talk at one of our club events.

Eric Carlsson had hoped to attend the event with him but his health did not permit the journey to Scotland, so Douglas Anderson and I visited Eric in his home where Douglas interviewed him and Stuart, about Eric’s career as a rally driver.

Stuart successfully partnered Eric as co-driver in the 1960 RAC Rally which they won. I  videoed the interview for RADS (Rally and Drive Scotland) and published it on YouTube where it is still available to view. Erik Carlsson Interview - 1 September 2011

We would like to offer our condolences to Stuart’s family and his many friends in the motoring world. He will be sadly missed but has left a great legacy to the world of rallying. He was one of the greats of the golden age of rallying.
