CCHMSC Committee Member Roger Fry
heads over the horizon
It
was with heavy heart we heard of the death of Roger Fry, a club
Director, Company Secretary and
regular committee member of our club. Roger passed away end August
after a short illness. A member since 2010 and club director from 2013
he held the role of treasurer for several years, always offering ideas
and help to keep our club finances in good health.

He
spent many years
rebuilding his 1975 Alfa Romeo Spider, entering with the car in the
2019 Red Hackle Tour.
Returning to a manual gearbox from the automatic
of his daily driver gave Roger a few challenges to get his
head around |
Originally
from Bristol, Roger forged a career in the law, spending some time as a
magistrate in Fiji, before retiring to Crieff. He was always
willing to offer help, as a route setup on the Mini Miglia the club ran
for Jaguar in 2013, and tips to get around problems when designing
rally routes,
At 87 Roger had a good life, but will be missed for his quiet but
always helpful and interesting perspective on organising classic car
events.
