Ed's  Ramblings

All ready for the big day? Christmas is a great time for celebration, especially for the kids.
For us it may be a time for a break and relaxation. Or receive that box of spanners or special tool you've been waiting for to complete that overdue repair on the classic in the garage.

Hopefully one or more will be the excuse, if you need one, to get your classic out in the new year too drive some of the spectacular roads around Scotland.

First out the blocks is the
RSAC Spring Run
12 April 2026

News for the 2026 event which will be published in the pre-event information , being distributed towards the end of January   
   
The Run is slightly later in 2026 due to the date that Easter falls, but will still be one of the first events of the season     
   
Again the run is is open to cars of all ages, with a dedicated route and free entry for Veteran and Vintage Cars   

Sunday Worship

Drive it Day 2026
Sunday April 26
Sunday 26 April is a popular date, being the national Drive it Day

Our colleague Bill Telford is running a tour event to celebrate the day. 



Drive It Day 2026 offers you the opportunity to blow the cobwebs off your vintage, veteran, classic, sports, prestige or modern performance car after it's long winter hibernation and kick of the 2026 season with a fabulous one day event driving on some of Scotland's finest roads.

Classic High Tea  -   7 December



Great turnout for our annual Christmas Classic High Tea, despite the heavens opening during the event.

 Once again held at The Royal George Hotel in Perth, including their award winning Meringues, which never cease to amaze.  
Great to catchup on what's going on and looking at next years activities.

Other Early 2026 Events
ANNIVERSARY MONTE 100 CLASSIQUE - 29 January
Organised by Monte Start Committee Scotland in association with ERDC, to mark the 100th anniversary of the first Start of the Monte Carlo Rallye from John O’Groats in the far north of Scotland.  The Classique will depart from the world famous sign post at John O’Groats on the morning of Thursday 29 January 2026 and follow the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique competitors to Reims, visiting their Passage Controls enroute. There will be an overnight halt on 29 January at the Doubletree Hotel, North Queensferry.
On Friday 30 January they will make our way through the Borders and the North of England to a Passage Control in York and then on
to Hull for the overnight ferry to Rotterdam.

By popular demand since 2024 the organisers have retained the outward route to Glencoe but have enhanced the return journey making each leg 100 miles. This makes The Perthshire Classic Car Tour one of the longest and most scenic routes in Scotland for classic cars.
The tour starts at McDiarmid Park, Perth and then heads north through rural Perthshire along the banks of Loch Tay to Tyndrum and Glencoe where lunch is arranged at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel. 
The return route will be south through Appin and Lochawe to Tyndrum before finishing at Crieff Hydro Hotel in time for The End of Tour Dinner and Awards Ceremony at 5.30pm, ending a great day out. Click link to enter
