Classic High Tea - 4 December 2016
Report and photos Jim Paterson

From west to north - members from near and far

The clubs end of year event takes time to enjoy a traditional Scottish high tea, a main course followed by lots of cream cakes and tea.

With over 40 members on the 'entry list', the Royal George Hotel in Perth had to give us one of their larger dining rooms.

We gathered in the bar area (where else?) chatting over some of the past years  events, and catching up with the latest updates to our classics.

Soon Jim Paterson called for all crews to 'start their engines' and head for the dining room.

Before our feasting began Jim presented a video summary of the past years events, showing many of the members cars.

The main course then arrived and we all tucked into our pre selected options. Each table had a list of who had selected what so no need for me to adjudicate over who ordered the last fish and chips!

The 'tea' part of the event saw scones, butter and jam, with creamed scones topped with a strawberry, and the 'creme de la creme', the biggest meringues on the planet. The calories simply groaned, they were so big! The strawberry on top simply made them a must 'eat me'.

Retiring back to the bar we continued our conversations over the 2017 calendar with some good ideas to add to the clubs current events for next year. Watch this space to see what we finally come up with.

My drive home next day (yes the bar did stay open late!) passed by the new Forth Road Crossing, not long until complete, looming through the fog over the river.

Meantime we wish ALL our members and everyone who is a classic car enthusiast, a very merry Christmas and a really good fun Classic New Year.

You will be very welcome to join us on some great events in 2017.
