Visiting some great places across the border country of
Scotland is a great way to close the touring year.
AGM
- 11 June
The
Annual General Meeting of the Caledonian
Classic and Historic Motor Sport Club Ltd was held on Thursday 11th
June 2026 at the Royal George Hotel, Tay Street, Perth.
Reports were provided on the
past year ending March 2026. These included events, financial
and membership status, followed by discussion on future activities of the club.
RSAC Three Lochs Classic
23 August
This year the RSAC are pleased to support CHAS (Childrens Hospices Across Scotland )
The event is again hosted by the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club,
There
is still the ever popular long and short route options.
Crofterra
Pandemonia
12 & 13 Sep
< This
year's Crofterra will start in Grantown on Spey on the Saturday and
Sunday mornings. Finish
on Sunday Inverness.

VSMA Autumn Run 20 Sep
New
date for this annual event, hoping to miss the washout weather that
brought the shutters down on the 2025 run. Full details when they
appear.
Bo'ness HillClimb Classic Car
Show,
6 September
If you can't manage our Tour of
the Borders , see main article in this newsletter, then this may be a
possible for you.
The
Bo'ness HillClimb Classic Car Show, a celebration of automotive
heritage set against the backdrop of the historic hillclimb. This
event, taking place on Sunday 6th September 2026, promises a day filled
with nostalgia and craftsmanship.
Join at the Kinneil Estate and be part of a day
where passion for the past meets the excitement of motorsport.

Tour of the Borders - 6
September - Regs out
Now
To complete the club touring season
we pickup the route we had prepared for the unfortunately postponed
2025 season. Moving back into September will hopefully fit in with
members diaries. Last year October seemed too late.
Our new route promises some new roads to drive, many with spectacular
views from the hilltops we cross. Once again points of
interest on
the way ideal to stop and refresh.

Three
Hills Tour - 5 July
Lineup at McDiarmid Park

Our
triple hill hop across three hill ranges in Fife and Kinross, starting
and
finishing at McDiarmid Park, attracted 26 starters,
enjoying great
venue hospitality for both start and finish celebrations. The
forecast wild weather did not appear, apart from a couple of showers on
route. So for the most part the soft top cars kept the tops down.
George and Jean
Shand found some
exciting roads
across this landscape, and good work from fellow organisers Ron and Jan
Adam helped make the event a success. Once again places of interest
were visited and explored

50th
Glamis Extravaganza - 11/12 July story and
pictures - Kevin Bax
CCHMSC
member Kevin Bax, a keen Jensen Healey owner and enthusiast, orgnanised
a
display of the marque at Glamis. He drew together some really
interesting people, many with stories to tell about Jensens. First time
a gathering on any Jensens in Scotland for many a year. Built
by
Jensen Motors Ltd, founded by brothers Alan and Richard Jensen in 1936 in West Bromwich, England, from 1972 until 1976.
Kevin's is a Mk1, 1972 green early car, number 91
out of 1276 Mk1

When
production of the Austin-Healey 3000 ended, Donald Healey opened
discussions with Jensen Motors, who had built the bodies for Healey's
Austin-Healey cars. The Jensen-Healey was developed in a joint venture
by Donald Healey, his son Geoffrey, and Jensen Motors. |

A
white Jensen GT from 1975, one of only 218 RHD cars made. Original
condition, spent forty years of it's life locked away in a shipping
container. Driven all the way from West London for the Show.

There
was another white MkII J-H that joined the stand for a few hours on the
Saturday as a guest.
There were two
other Jensen's at the Show. A 1961 silver 541S on the Ford
Pre'67 stand and a MkII Jensen Healey on the Austin Healey stand. Both
for sale. £70k & £8k respectively. |

total of 10503 cars were made between 1972 and 1976, of which
2020 were sold in the UK, the major market being USA and Canada,
where 7634 were sold. |

Rotary
Club of Inverness Classic Car Tour - 8 August
- Starting and finishing in
Inverness, the 170 mile route will include the Great Glen before
returning north, via scenic Stratherrick and Strathdearn and
into
Badenoch. The return leg will
cover parts of
Speyside, Dava Moor and Nairnside.

It is with regret that The Rotary Club of Inverness
have to inform you that we have had to cancel this year's Loch Ness
Classic Car Tour, scheduled to run on Saturday 8th
August. Despite our efforts to promote the
Tour, including the excellent publicity in the monthly Newsletter, we
have received very few entries. The current economic climate
is having a detrimental effect on leisure activities and that, along
with holidays/date clashes and the high cost of accomodation in the
area at present has not helped.
The Rotary Club are keen to see the Tour return next year and hopefully we can return to our "traditional" June date.
