Following consultation and advice from the MSA and the Route Liaison Officer for Scotland, the CCHMSC committee took the decision at a meeting on 1st June to postpone the Caledonian 500, which was planned for 6/7 June. This followed the announcement that an event called La Carrera Caledonia is to be, independent of CCHMSC, run on the same weekend, using the same overnight, and finish locations, and potentially some of the same roads.

The Caledonian 500 was announced to provide a substitute event, to honour entrant arrangements, when CCHMSC were forced to cancel the permit for the La Carrera Caledonia.

CCHMSC apologised for the confusion and disappointment caused, due to circumstances outside the Clubs control, and all entry cheques received were returned immediately.

All Club decisions were democratically reached by the committee members present.

The Club President had the full support of the CCHMSC committee.
